Discover more about his journey into menswear, life at Oliver Brown Cambridge and his recommendations for visiting one of Britain’s most historic cities.

What's your role at Oliver Brown, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I’m the Store Manager at Oliver Brown Cambridge. What I enjoy most about the role is how multifaceted every day is. One moment I’m handling managerial responsibilities, and the next I’m working directly with customers and helping create a made-to-measure suit.

The most rewarding part is seeing a customer leave feeling confident and happy with their garments. That satisfaction is priceless. I also really enjoy the entrepreneurial side of the role and the variety that comes with it. No two days are ever the same.

How did you get into menswear and tailoring?

I’ve always had a personal interest in clothing and presentation, which I think came from my grandad. From a young age, I was conscious of style and how I dressed, so when the opportunity came to work at Hugo Boss, I jumped at it. That’s where I really honed my knowledge and skills in menswear.

There’s been no looking back since. At the end of the day, I got into menswear simply because I genuinely love clothing and the confidence it can give people.

What’s one wardrobe essential every man should own?

In my opinion, a well-fitting navy suit is the foundation of a gentleman’s wardrobe. It’s incredibly versatile and works for almost any occasion from business to weddings and formal events.

If you choose something with a bit of character, such as the Classic Fit Navy Herringbone Eaton suit we offer here at Oliver Brown, you’ll have a timeless piece that will serve you well for years to come.

Do you have a favourite Oliver Brown piece?

Without a doubt, the Classic Fit Navy Herringbone Eaton suit. In my opinion, it’s the holy grail of tailoring timeless, versatile, and effortlessly elegant.

What’s been your most memorable moment working at Oliver Brown so far?

Setting up the Cambridge shop has definitely been my most memorable experience so far. It was a huge amount of work, but incredibly exciting at the same time.

The support from the head office team and colleagues from the other stores made a massive difference, and it was great to see everything come together successfully.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

When I’m not working, I enjoy going to the gym and keeping active. I’m also a bit of a petrolhead, so cars and motoring are a big passion of mine.

If you could give one bit of style advice to our customers, what would it be?

Fit is king. No matter how good a garment looks, the right fit makes all the difference. Always invest the time in getting the best possible fit for your clothing.

That’s why the Oliver Brown Made to Measure service is so valuable. It ensures every piece feels tailored specifically to you.

Top tips for anyone visiting Cambridge?

If you’re ever visiting Cambridge, make sure you go punting. It’s one of the best ways to experience the city and offers some incredible views of the historic colleges and surroundings.
