Hire FAQ's

What items are available for hire?

Oliver Brown has an extensive collection of Evening Tails, Dinner Jackets (single and double breasted), and Morning Wear. We also hire Top Hats, Cummerbunds, Shirts, Bow Ties and Braces.

How long do I get my hire for?

You have the option to select your hires for as long as you require.

For Ascot however, hires will be ready to collect the day before your required Race Day and to be returned the day after. Any extra days required will be charged at a full rate.

What happens with late returns?

You will be charged £25 per late day for normal hires, and a full day for every late day of Ascot hires.

Are the items dry cleaned before going out?

Yes, we have 3 levels of quality control on stock; once when it's returned, once when it's picked at the warehouse and once when the order arrives in store.

When should I order?

We usually take around 4 days to prepare a hire so please leave sufficient time before you need your hire items. For large wedding orders we recommend booking 3 months in advance.

Can my hire items be delivered?

Yes, however you have to return them yourself to one of our stores in London or Chester.

What if I order and my sizes are wrong?

We keep plenty of sizes in store and can swap them over when you arrive. We really do urge customers to check their hire upon collection before leaving the store to avoid any disappointment. We want to ensure that everything fits you perfectly!

How does payment work?

Payment is taken up front when an order is placed. If your circumstances change or the event is cancelled, we offer a full refund seven days before picking up your order.

Do I leave a deposit?

No, we store your card details on the computer.

There’s no charge on this - and this is only ever charged if your suit is not returned.

What's the best store to go into for hire?

All of our 4 stores in London and Chester accept walk-ins, so you’re welcome to come into any.

How do you do a wedding booking?

The best way is by coming into one of our stores with just your partner. Browse our hire collection to see what you like, and you can then place an order then and there. You’ll then be given an order number, which you can share with your groomsmen so they can then go into any of our stores to be sized up.

Can I order in one store and pick up in another?

Yes - you can place your order in any one of our four stores, and pick up and return your items in any one of our stores.

Do you take appointments for hire?

No, we operate on a first come first serve basis.
